Reminds me of the one time I got a season pass to Mt. Bachelor, instead of Hoodoo or the Mt. Hood ski resorts, all an hour to an hour and a half closer to home. Three hour drive each way, I would wake up around 4:30AM and get home long after the sun had set! Bachelor is Oregon's largest ski resort and had light, fluffy and abundant powder being in the Eastern flanks of the Cascades. It was a great season, but I think that is a little farther than I'd be willing to travel for a mountain I hold a season pass at now! But if it's a one-off visit, I'd still be willing to drive six to eight hours in one day for a day of skiing!
