My theory on Powdr excluding Bachelor from the Ikon previously is that they thought they could get more revenue out of Bachelor's expensive season pass and 4 packs than the Ikon pass. My bet is Bachelor lost significant business to Crystal and Snoqualmie on the Ikon pass and finally had to give in and include Bachelor in Ikon.
By the way, for me, you can never groom anything to death. I have never skied at an over-groomed mountain, many could use more grooming. The Mary Jane area of Winter Park is great example, the lack of grooming causes severe overcrowding on the only groomed trail back to the the Mary Jane base area from most of the ski resort.
