The ski media is very good at taking you on adventures: Alaska, Japan, the Himalayas, remote BC. Helicopters and cliffs and powder, four feet deep and endless. That kind of writing is essential and invigorating, but not always relatable. Where are the stories about the lift-served ski areas where 99 percent of skiers spend 99 percent of their time?
You’ve found them. The Storm explores the world of lift-served skiing all year long. When the Epic or Ikon or Indy or Mountain Collective passes add a new partner, I’m breaking the announcement down. When a mountain announces a terrain expansion or master plan draft or lift project, you’re getting 3,000 words about it. And when a ski area returns from the dead or changes its name or sells to new owners or closes for good, I’m writing that story.
The Storm covers ski areas of all sizes, and in all regions of the United States. Snow Trails, Ohio and Paul Bunyan, Wisconsin get the same podcast treatment as Big Sky, Montana or Sun Valley, Idaho or Jay Peak, Vermont. I am a resort skier, obsessed with creating content for anyone else who is obsessed with this world. Join me:
