I would love to see them keep a triple and add a conveyor loading system. They have the ability to move the lower terminal uphill 20 or so feet to accommodate it. The other option would be a triple/quad up the top notch line with a terminal closer to the summit and would also recommend a conveyor there as well.

Stuart, at the end of your comment, glad you visited using Western Mass. It all wasn't so bad, right? Otis Ridge is all we have left in or adjacent to the Springfield area, which also used to be fed by Hartford CT. area ski enthusiasts. And ANOTHER 20 minutes on 23, and a left in Blandford, would have brought you to the shuttered Blandford area. I know I opine perhaps too much on that, but it seems a shame. A great layout, still undoubtedly needing investment despite Butternut's extensive efforts, maybe it needs a snow angel with funds it won't mind losing some of. Climate change yes, but there is a string of low altitude ski areas reaching south through CT, New York, New Jersey,...

I swear if Vail replaceds the Triple, that's gonna leave enough people speechless so that Vail can sit back and calm before doing anything else a couple years later.

High speed? More like High profit. AND HIGH CUSTOMER SATISFACTION.

So there's gonna be more people on the mountain? Okay whatever. Send all the kids down Saco, the wackos can do Humphreys, and Vail HAS (credit where credit's due) fixed the snowmaking on Wilfred Guam for all of us experts!

That shared lift tower on Flying Yankee/Triple just seems sketch. They really need to cut new trails at the summit and rehaul where the summit lift is going.

Attitash does have some of the most fun terrain in New England in my opinion. It almost had some real attention to terrain park when Carinthia/Big Boulder were blowing up also. They just always seem so close to being able to pull off A tier resort status but manage to mismanage itself to remain C tier.

Last time I was there I remember being chased over a paper cup that I was supposed to pay for. Told them to take it back and Im not paying for a water fountain cup. Raise lift prices if they need to but I dont want to be nickeled and dimed over a cup that is literally worth less than a nickel. This was post Vail acquisition also, "Experiance of a lifetime" LOL.

One issue I have heard with the Attitash triple is that the way the current triple line crosses the Flying Yankee is no longer permitted, and they'll have to cut a new line. That will lengthen the duration of this project it it's true.

Even though it hardly ever ran, Top Notch was great when it opened because it was a faster ride (both speed and distance wise) and provided quicker access to a lot of terrain including the steeps. I won't beat a dead horse explaining why it was a mistake to remove it.

Hi Stuart, I really do not buy the argument that the summit of Attitash could not handle a high speed quad with 2,800 skiers per hour. As you point out there are three ways down and Saco fans out to an entire trail network. I just want to point out that Bear Peak is just as closed off at the summit and only has two ways down. Also Wildcat is also a narrow summit with only three ways down (really two ways down as most people do not ski Lift Lion.) In fact, Wildcat has only has one route off of the summit this year due to the snow making issues and they have made it work thus far.

The would probably want to pull the lift back a little to create a little more room at the summit of Attitash, but I think it is manageable.

Admittedly, I think a six-pack at Attitash would be pushing it unless they want to space out the chairs. (Which may be a viable plan if they plan on developing the bowl between Attitash and Bear creating more down hill capacity.)
