‘The Storm’s’ Official 2024 Presidential Endorsement Is Here
I can't stand aside in The Most Important Election of Our Lifetime™
Just kidding. You’ll never be subjected to that crap here. I launched The Storm in 2019 partially as an escape hatch from political news, both for me and for my readers/listeners. Yes, I occasionally make fun of ridiculous characters like Free Market Bro or Protect the Grasshoppers Bro, but these are cultural observations, not political takes. Ultimately, I think life is more funny than catastrophic, and no matter what happens in the U.S. presidential election tomorrow, I will continue to write a ski newsletter about skiing and pretty much nothing else.
And I’d love to have you along for the full let’s-not-take-ourselves-too-seriously experience. Right now, you can upgrade to The Storm Skiing Journal & Podcast’s paid tier for just $5 per month. That’s like 1/200th of the cost of a new set of snow tires (just kidding, Snow Tires Bro, stop issuing death threats because I find your absolutism as ridiculous as our political environment).
The sale will end soon. Paid subscribers get a lot more non-serious ski content, and early access to podcasts, like this conversation with Grand Targhee Managing Director and General Manager Geordie Gillett:
Podcasts from the leaders of Crystal Mountain, Michigan; Copper Mountain, Colorado; and Giants Ridge, Minnesota are already recorded and dropping soon.
Anyway I hope to see you there. I promise it’s better than fighting with your friend’s uncle on Facebook about the civilization-despoiling impacts of steel tariffs or the ongoing economic fallout of the Woodrow Wilson presidency. I’m going to keep having fun even if the world is doing everything it can to stop me.
