I did not listen to the podcast but have experienced the place recently. AT skiing is severely restricted at Gunstock to 6-9AM and only skinning up on a few trails if they are open! Apparently they are concerned about too many folks wanting to ski up the hill! Their online ticket purchase setup is confusing and problematic, and when I emailed for help they never responded. And the paperwork mess needed for kid school programs is so confusing that I can’t figure it out and beg my wife to do it. The place needs an administrative overhaul!
Great interview. I like the way that Tom Day has been able to build a career doing so many serious jobs in the ski industry, but, seriously ski bum at the same time. I guess the moral of the story is, when you take that liftie job, look around and see where you can go next at the hill. and maybe make it a year round gig. Someday you'll be the boss.
