Finally, someone leading the industry acknowledges the seemingly obvious assertion that sky-high lift tickets with dirt-cheap season passes prevents newcomers from entering the sport and is not a strategy which can exist forever.
It seemed like every previous EpKon leader you asked about pricing was oblivious to this and argued against it with airline ticket analogies or data about season pass growth.
I’m excited to see what Jared & all of Alterra have planned and how it unfolds.
Smith pretty much explained why Alterra ignores the Midwest with, "there isn't much skiing or skiing culture in the Midwest". Ouch!
