I visited Whitefish in late December 2021, with loads of fresh powder & 100% of the terrain open simultaneous with the Christmas/New Year's holiday period, and hardly waited in any lift queues the whole time I was there, and this was before the Snow Ghost Express was built! Maybe waited a couple minutes to get on Big Mountain Express, and occasionally there were some decent lines on the Base Lodge chairlift which doubles as an egress lift and beginner chairlift, but the Bad Rock lift never had a line so I had no issue getting out of the base area to the other lifts!

Lift tickets were like $89 for the holiday period, and I stayed in a Best Western a half hour away in Kalispell, it's a very easy drive and a good parking situation at the ski resort! Lots of options for everyone of all budgets at Whitefish, if you want to have some nice slopeside condos or do what I did and stay a short drive away in Kalispell where a variety of hotels and stores are, this place will not break the bank for giving you a truly A-tier experience of great snow, excellent terrain, limited crowds and breathtaking views. I personally drove to Kalispell & Whitefish, but there is an airport and a train station so you have options on how to get there!

I'm no Whitefish local or expert, but I do remember during my visit that the holy trifecta of powder was the terrain served by the Bigfoot T-Bar, East Rim and Flower Point chairlifts. Then again, there was powder everywhere, alongside a great lineup of long groomed cruisers.

To all readers of The Storm, I greatly recommend this place! It's a truly excellent experience that will not break the bank!
