You might let folks know that some of the NH Mountains suddenly announced they will be halting pass sales on 01 November. Saw this on Cannon's website.

Thanks for the heads up.

I don't think that we can be surprised in the pass purchase surge, especially with mountains (e.g. Alterra) that require annual passes to guarantee mountain access this season. I don't know the details of other pass plans, but I only purchased our annual Ikon passes in June, after the change in the Adventure Assurance, which allows us to not activate our passes, and roll the credit forward. The way things are headed right now, it's hard to crystal ball if we'll be able to get back onto the resort mountains this winter.

I think a lot of folks did the same. Pass sales were pretty weak in the spring until mountains lined up behind those guarantees. Between the migration to rural areas and the limitations you mentioned, the surge ended up exceeding most observers’ early expectations.
