Stewart - I only wish your approach to journalism was much much more common in today's media and I mean that sincerely. You should be very proud of your fine work.

Stuart, I've been a fan since the Storm was about 14-15 months old! With each passing year you become a better podcast host, your writing style improves, the sheer amount of content output increases, and you manage to blend journalistic integrity and research seamlessly with your opinions and personality in your writing!

Your output of content has been so impressive I have a lot of catching up to do, and it's totally awesome. I love seeing that email pop up in my inbox regarding a new article and/or podcast, even if it's regarding a place I've never even heard of! You've convinced this West Coast skier here that he needs to go on a ski trip to the Midwest and East Coast sometime, and without The Storm I never would've had such a holistic understanding of everything skiing related, or even knew such a massive amount of ski areas and ski culture EXISTED in the Midwest for example! I also credit The Storm for getting me on to the mega passes back before they really advertised a lot, and I haven't paid for a lift ticket in years... Haha

Keep up the great work, Stuart, and appreciate your willingness to tell the truth as you see it.

Great piece, Stuart. You continue to impress. Wish we had someone with your talent covering the equipment beat, as we have so many new and returning skiers with no clue how to evaluate the merits of what they read. Keep up the great work you’re doing! - Jackson Hogen, Realskiers.com

Stuart - Thank you so much for what you do. There is so little journalism on the ski industry, and what does exist is surface level at best. When I read your first article a few months ago, I was blown away by how detailed and objective what you were saying was. The monthly fee is the least I can do to support you and the great work you do. I hope more people like me will find your great content in the future.

Stuart, You and The Pontiff of Powder are the only writers in ski journalism whose writings are not bubblegum encrusted advertisements - the gum scraped from soles that stepped in it. To quote a great Polish born author, The Horror! Dick

You do great work, Stuart! I started reading for free in the early spring and moved to paid in the fall. Yes, I wanted the content that comes with paid. But I also saw how much you were putting into this and knew it was worthy of support. I have a podcast suggestion for you. I really wish you would do an AMA answering reader questions. Your subscribers believe in you, have tremendous respect for you, are a bit curious about you, and would love it if you put yourself out there like that.

Nice job with your work. I enjoyed reading your 4th anniversary reflection and insights.

You are performing a valuable service and filling a gap that the ski magazines just don’t touch.

Thanks for your thorough research, networking, analysis, and writing.

I vouch for the value of the paid subscription.

Stuart, keep up the good work. Each newsletter amazes me with the amount of effort that goes into it. I find it hard to see how you can hold down another full time job and help raise a family while providing us all with such excellent content. Thank you. Proud to subscribe.

Hey Stuart, joined for “free”, now I’m paid, and loved reading your manifesto.

Story idea: wish there was a way to find the friendly/informative/helpful “fun” local who’s often skiing at his/her favorite ski hill. Would be so great if you did a regular “fun profile” on a guy or girl at the hills and mountains we ski at. For example, I know who I’d recommend to you for Stratton, VT or Snowbird, UT

Keep going man!

Great idea. I would recommend a Mountain Host volunteer at Giant's Ridge, MN.

Hey Matthew, thanks! Now we just gotta hope there’s many others out there who feel the same, and who express themselves to the man - Stuart!

Stuart, Today I listened to Souix Falls podcast while DH MTB today and driving... now reading newsletter. I will continue subscribing and telling my friends... I love your content! How you elevate the inde's plattekill and Souix Falls place... how you let these AMAZING personalities tell their stories, how you so deeply appreciate them and give them their due! and you do it all with personality.. if haters hate NYC and mid-west you got some both of it in you and it makes you who you are, and I love listening. One thing though... I could care less about early access to pods... just do you know. I don't need any subscriber benefits, only to TRY to keep up with HOW MUCH amazing content you put out! besides keeping all your emails... maybe you could help me organize the content better. is there a landing page where I can see all your content that only subscribers can get to?

Well said! Your Windham reporting was excellent (and I appreciate your challenges there). Plenty of heat elsewhere but not much light.
