Vail might make play for holiday valley, right now they get 30-40% Ontario residents and blue mountain in ON is a alterra jewel. Vail buying holiday valley could be provide huge Toronto market. Toronto to holiday valley - 3hrs, Toronto to blue - 2.5-3hrs.

For Vail, they buy feeder hills close in to major metros and destination resorts that, outside of a few exceptions (Front Range, Wasatch) generally require a plane trip for most of their customers. So if you look at the big markets where feeder hills exist but Vail doesn't have a presence, that's Toronto, Montreal, LA and Portland, OR. Maybe you add in PHX there as well. This would lead you to the conclusion that places like Holiday Valley, Jay/Bromont/Owl's Head/Orford, Mtn High, and perhaps one of the Mt. Hood operations would be in their cross hairs.

In terms of destination resorts, just looking at the map tells you their biggest hole is interior PNW/BC/AB. So places like Whitefish, Schweitzer, Lake Louise/Sunshine Village, the RCR hills and Sun Valley would be a nice fit in that regard. Maybe also look for more scale in Utah with a Snowbasin or PowMow deal.

Well be legit shocked if the next Vail acquisition is outside of those hills/areas.

That’s a good list - I would add something in Nc to grab the Charlotte population as another possibility. Sugar Maybe as it’s the biggest

Yeah that’s a good add depending on their risk assessment for hills in marginal climate regions (this would include Mountain High to some extent as well).

Agree that would be a great add for any pass. Much better than Vail's Ohio ski areas.

reminder that Burke + Jay offer "The Judge" combo pass ....

Yes that's a great pass. I would be surprised if they stay together in the future though, since Burke isn't even for sale yet.
