I’ve skied top to bottom at Steamboat and Heavenly, and they don’t feel the same, likely because of the way the routes run. Same with Okemo, you run that mountain top to bottom and it does not feel like you’ve dropped that far. That is super interesting. Also makes me wonder about the numbers, are they like “snow reports,” and “lift openings”?

When comparing East and West vertical, I also look at who has the lifts with the most vertical. I think of this as the most vertical for lap able terrain. 2kft lifts seem more common on east coast.

It is incomprehensible to me that Sugarbush claims more snow than MRG. My thought is Sugarbush shoots high and modest MRG shoots low for kicks - “Why is this tiny vert kicking my butt back to NJ?”

Sunday River #10 on vertical? No. I mean, technically, sure. But no. If ever there were a case of "lies, damn lies, and statistics," that's it.

Small nitpick on your charts: if Whiteface, Gore and Belleayre are listed as owned by New York State, Cannon should probably be listed as owned by the State of New Hampshire instead of as Independent.

I've seen charts like this before for the West and East, but never for the Midwest. I love it!
