Crystal Mountain Returns to Unlimited Tier on Full Ikon Pass as Alterra Releases 2024-25 Pass Suite
Arapahoe Basin, Windham Mountain Club access remains unchanged; Ikon Base Plus Upcharge Increases to $250
And here you go – Ikon Pass prices for the 2024-25 ski season:
The big note here is that upgrading Ikon Base to Ikon Base Plus (to access Aspen, Jackson, Taos, Snowbasin, Sun Valley, Deer Valley, and Alta), jumped from $200 for the 2023-24 ski season to $250 for 2024-25. No new Ikon partners will join the Base Plus tier, in spite of repeated hints by Windham Mountain Club that the new owners would push for such a change.
This marks the third consecutive year of Ikon Pass price increases, sixth consecutive annual Base Pass price increase, and fourth straight jump for Ikon Base Plus:
And, once again, Ikon is priced at a substantial premium to the Epic Pass:
The big roster change is that Crystal Mountain, Alterra’s popular Washington resort that has previously struggled with crowds, returns as an unlimited partner on the full Ikon Pass following a two-year absence.
As of now, Arapahoe Basin access for 2024-25 remains as it was for 2023-24: seven days on Ikon Pass, five days on Ikon Base, with no blackouts on either. That, however, could change once Alterra takes full ownership of the bump later this year.
Another minor roster tweak: Brighton officially dropped its reservation requirement for 2024-25. Company officials say that the mountain actually discontinued them earlier this season, after putting a parking reservation requirement in place.
While no new mountains join the lineup, this is still the best team any ski pass has put together in the history of the universe:
And the Ikon Session Pass continues to exist for some reason:
Alterra continues to tweak mountain access in meaningful ways without disrupting their core product. And while prices continue to increase each year, the devaluation of the Ikon Base Pass seems to have slowed.
